Job Description


Optimus seeks a dynamic, organized, customer focused Mobile Diesel Technician to help us to reach our bold growth goals assisting fleets in reducing their carbon emissions and achieving environmental sustainability goals. This role will be one of the company’s primary customer facing experts on The Vector fuel System technology. This requires a comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software systems, a mastery of the tools and diagnostics utilized for installing and servicing the product, and a dedication to representing Optimus with dignity and distinction in customer environments. This is a full-time position (approximately 35-50 hours per week) to be based in Pittsburgh, PA or the Southern Tier of NYS with significant travel requirements (75%+ of a work year). This position is the front line for performing on site customer work including but not limited to installation, service and support of the Optimus Vector fuel system. Responsibilities


• Become an expert on the Vector system, and the various electronic, software, hardware, and mechanical components therein • Work with all aspects of system installations, including but not limited to: vehicle teardown and reassembly (interior, exterior, and engine compartment), installation of fuel tanks, manifolds, fuel and coolant lines, wiring harnesses, electronic controllers, and display units • Read, interpret, and utilize appropriate technical drawing, schematics, electrical diagrams and manuals to complete system installations, troubleshooting, and repairs • Perform appropriate system testing upon project completion • Confidence in communication and ability to impart knowledge to customers, eventually leading to the training of other fleet technicians • Provide an open and welcoming line of communication with customers to provide troubleshooting and technical support via telephone, email, or in person • Make sure all customers’ needs are satisfied in an effective and reliable manner • Research and resolve technical issues implementing both internal and external information and resources • Assist with various Vector system component assembly and manufacturing




Qualifications & Experience


• ASE Diesel certification or equivalent, and/or military service in a relevant area, and/or significant work equivalent experience • Minimum 5 years of heavy-duty vehicle or equipment installation, diagnostic, and/or repair experience • Intimate knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems, with proven ability to troubleshoot and repair independently • Ability to comprehend detailed product schematics and documentation, and follow complex work instructions • Advanced communication and computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office and/or GSuite, and the ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner with both coworkers and customers • Demonstrated strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability and willingness to work with other team members to solve problems • Proven track record of working independently and under pressure, with little to no supervision when necessary • Ability to create and keep to timelines and deadlines, and prioritize the workload without direct supervision • A strong sense of pride in the work done that shows in quality and customer satisfaction




Job Requirements


• Frequent physical activity such a bending, climbing, twisting, standing, and lifting tools, parts, and materials (up to 70lbs) • Work occurring in a variety of environments, including but not limited to: office, outdoor, warehouse and shop conditions • Ability to work around a variety of particulates, lubricants and chemicals • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; CDL a plus • Significant domestic travel is required (75%+) • Flexible hours of operation • Commitment to following COVID health practices, such as the use of PPE equipment, wearing masks appropriately and consistently, and monitoring one’s health for symptoms

This is a full-time (approximately 35-50 hours per week) position to be based in Pittsburgh, PA or the Southern Tier of NYS with significant travel requirements (75%+) consisting primarily of on-site customer work performing installation, service, and support of the Optimus Vector fuel system. Optimus is fast growing technology company; all employees must be self-directed and capable of managing multiple duties within the company. This position will allow for a wide range of growth and new opportunities in a flexible and evolving work environment. The Product Specialist is the companies’ customer facing subject matter expert on the Vector fuel system technology. This requires a comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software systems and a mastery of the tools and diagnostics utilized for installing and servicing the product. The position will require collaboration with electrical and mechanical engineers, manufacturers, and Optimus’ customers to implement the Vector technology in fleet applications. The Product Specialist must have a customer-first mindset being the first link in the chain for any maintenance support, diagnostics, and customer training. Qualifications & Experience


• Associate/Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a technical or engineering field; ASE equivalent technical certifications, significant related work experience, or military service in a relevant area • Ability to comprehend detailed product schematics and documentation, and follow complex work instructions • Demonstrated strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability and willingness to work with other team members to solve problems • Previous experience in a trainer, mentor, or teacher role; proven ability to communicate new information to others in a clear and concise manner • Ability to create and keep to timelines and deadlines, and prioritize workload without direct supervision • Advanced communication and computer skills, including a familiarity with MS Office and/or GSuite, and the ability to communication in a professional manner with both coworkers and customers

Product Specialist Position – Diesel Engine Technology

Optimus seeks a dynamic, organized Production Manager & Assembler to help us to reach our bold growth goals assisting fleets in reducing their carbon emissions and achieving environmental sustainability goals. This is a full-time (approximately 35-50 hours per week) position based in Pittsburgh, PA with potential travel requirements of 25%. Initially this position will include product & component assembly along with managing vendors and the production process of the Optimus Vector fuel system. The Production Manager & Assembler will be the companies’ subject matter expert on all things related to the Vector fuel system technology production. This includes a mastery of all raw materials, component parts, assemblies and where & how they are sourced. It will also require a comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software systems and how they are manufactured, sourced and incorporated in the product. The position will require collaboration with electrical and mechanical engineers and third party manufacturers. A successful candidate will prioritize quality, efficiency, and tackle every project with a meticulous mindset. This candidate will have a strong grasp on project management, inventory lead time, production scheduling, quality control and continue process improvement. Responsibilities


• Oversee and drive day to day production schedules, anticipating and meeting business needs • Work in conjunction with and oversee day to day work with the Optimus Assembly Technician • Manage inventory of raw components, subassemblies, assemblies and kits to keep up with workflow • Manage and maintain the physical inventory space, including optimizing storage, cleaning and upkeep of work benches, and implementing new organizational tactics • Work with Office Manager to maintain SOS Inventory Management and accurate digital inventory tracking • Build and maintain relationships with third party vendors and manufacturers. Provide feedback and source new vendors • Clear and constant communication with other staff in regards to production lead times, assembly times, opportunities for improvement and challenges to problem solve




Qualifications & Experience


• A degree in engineering, production management or a relevant business degree OR, significant related work experience, or military service in a relevant area • The ability to read and interpret shop drawings and schematics • Aptitude for, and understanding of, manufacturing concepts, machinery and tools • Enthusiasm to roll your sleeves up and take over current production with an eye towards establishing formal production processes and procedures • Strong ability to adapt to changing sets of priorities and shift between multiple simultaneous tasks • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in reporting on key production metrics • A passion for environmental sustainability, carbon reductions, and making the world a better place
